Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
  
Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be admitted for boarding after 10:00 AM and picked up after 10:00 AM until 1 hour before we close Monday through Satur

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, progesteron, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
    
Microchip permanent identification: We offer Homeagain® microchip identification and registration onsite (http://public.homeagain.com/index.html).  The microchip can be implanted at anytime - the patient does not need to be anesthetized for the procedure.  The cost for microchipping is $42.60 and the registration is $14.99 which includes the proactive recovery network with lost pet alerts, personalized lost pet posters, 24/7 emergency medical advice, lost pet medical insurance and more.   Please be advised that Home Again® will send an annual renewal notice.  You are under no obligation to renew your membership once the microchip is enrolled it will always be maintained in the database.  Renewing the membership provides the ongoing lost pet alerts, 24/7 emergency medical assistance, and the lost pet medical insurance.  Please call or email Home Again®  at 1-888-HOMEAGAIN (1-888-466-3242), customerservice@homeagain.com for more information.
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
   
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders, and enables specialists to view the images via the internet.

Reproductive Services: Breeding purebred dogs has become more scientific in recent years.  We offer complete reproductive services here at OSSVH.  Dr Roskin, Dr Hoffmann, and Dr Gregory can help you with all your breeding needs.  We do pre-breeding exams, management, ovulation timing, artificial and surgical inseminations, semen collection, fertility evaluation, semen storage as well as high risk or planned cesarean sections.
   
Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suites provide for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
